week two

a myth in a haiku

I choose “A snapshot of a story” as my writing assignment for this week. I don’t remember writing a haiku since some time in elementary school. It was definitely a little difficult, which is surprising because I was able to do it over a decade ago. I had no clue how to format it and spent time searching for how many syllables you needed for each line. Then, I started listing all of the myths I had ever learned about in school over the years and decided on one of my favorites from Greek Mythology.

This is the story of Persephone’s abduction by Hades basically summed up in three lines. If you are a little confused, here is the whole story. After I was finished writing, I made it into an image to draw attention and make it easier to read.
